Reigning premiers Hawthorn are said to be one of several clubs circling out of favour Collingwood forward Travis Cloke.

Cloke is set to make his return to the Collingwood side this weekend after missing the last seven weeks, since he was dropped for the Anzac Day clash against Essendon for his woeful start tot he season.

Despite being contracted for 2017, 1116 SEN commentator Tim Watson says he learned that a number of clubs are interested in the former two time All-Australian.

"I did learn yesterday that there are a number of clubs who are potentially interested in Travis Cloke and one of those is Hawthorn," Watson said.

"When you look at where Hawthorn's at right now and the fact that they're unsure about whether or not Jarryd Roughead will return, you'd expect them to at least identify him as maybe someone they could be interested in next year."

"If you're satisfied there's still footy left in him, there are a number of teams that would be interested. Essendon, I think they desperately need someone that can command a bit of attention in their forward line along side Joe Daniher.

"Already we've spoken about Hawthorn. Richmond is another team that could do with him, he's not going across the other side of Australia but there's a team over there (Fremantle) just desperately in need."

Cloke has managed just eight goals in his last ten games of AFL football.
