Collingwood ruckman Brodie Grundy says teammate Travis Cloke deserves to hold his spot in the Magpies' side to face Carlton on Saturday night.

Cloke is in danger of being dropped for the third time this season with fellow tall Darcy Moore likely to return from a broken collarbone.

The Pies were criticised for going too tall in their Queen's Birthday loss to Melbourne, but Grundy says Cloke doesn't necessarily need to go back to the VFL to make way for Moore.
